PROTECT YOUR PUPPY!
Your puppy has been started on his puppy vaccine series, he is NOT fully immunized
until he completes this at about 16/20 weeks.  He can pick up parvo/corona
anywhere, NO COMMON AREAS! 
What does this mean?
 We recommend keeping your new puppy out of grassy areas and daycare and dog parks until fully vaccinated to reduce the chances of contracting diseases and intestinal parasites. Puppy-specific training classes with other puppies or other dogs that are on their course of vaccines and negative for intestinal parasites in their stool can be beneficial for socialization.

 


We hope this page will help prepare you for you new little one.
Puppies are a lot of work and we want their transition to be as smoothly as possible.
We have given the best care we have been taught, using products we love.
We are not a vet and you do not have to follow our recommendations,
but we hope you do to make your new addition transition smoothly.
 
We want to share those with you and tell you WHY we use them.

Your puppy has access to feed and water 24/7
Try feeding 3 times a day and adjust as he grows

This means your puppy may be more of a grazer vs gobbling up when fed.
Be patient, his whole life has changed, smells, people, routines.
You can add yogurt (no artificial sweeteners) or cottage cheese
or even some canned food to it as  treat to entice eating.
We will send a little wet food to help first few days if he isn't eating well due to stress.

Water, your puppy is used to well water you may have to use bottle water for a while.
Your puppy may not like the smell or taste of his new water.

We feed Fromm Gold puppy food to all our puppies from the time they statr nibbling until they leave. We love this food, but also understand there are many different foods on the market and you have every right to choose the food that is right for you and your puppy!  


 Our puppy protocol:

We cut toenails EVERY WEEK

YOUR PUPPY WILL HAVE MINIMUM TWO PUPPY VACCINES BEFORE LEAVING US.
PUPPIES WILL NOT LEAVE US UNTIL 8 WEEKS OR LATER DEPENDING ON PUPPY.

YOUR PUPPY WILL BE THOUROUGHLY CHECKED AND APPROVED BY OUR VET
ALONG WITH A FECAL CHECK TO BE CLEAR OF ALL PARASITES
BEFORE LEAVING US

Your puppy is not fully vaccinated when leaving us,
Please visit with your vet and complete his puppy series for his safety.



We start all puppys on 

2,4, and 8 weeks wormed with Safeguard 

3,and 6 weeks wormed with pyrantel 

6 and 8 weeks and day of leaving  Marquis coccidia prevention (stress can still cause a break)

6 and 8 weeks 5 days of Albon/metronidazole giardia prevention( stress can still cause a break)

We use a chlorehexdine soap and fresh and clean dog shampoo on your puppy. 
DO NOT  over bathe your puppy, you will kill the natural oils in their skin and it will never come back,


 We feed and LOVE NuVet Vitamins

We purchase the powder for our puppies and
mix it in their food. 

Our adults take tablets.
